The full trailer for the upcoming Chucky series has arrived to give out more story details and a surprising amount of blood/killing!
These are words I never thought I’d say. Words that feel antithetical to the weenie kid who was terrified of the simple idea about a doll coming to life and killing people… Chucky looks good.
I’m not very steeped into all of the Chucky “lore” having really only watched the first couple of films, but I like the idea we’re seeing in this show. Chucky seems to be trying to take the main character “under his wing” rather than simply trying to murder him. This allows him the opportunity to spread his evil even more.
I’m really surprised at how brutal it looks for a TV show. Despite the shift, it sure looks like the franchise isn’t losing its edge.
In the new CHUCKY television series, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos after a vintage ‘Good Guy’ doll turns up at a suburban yard sale. Soon, everyone must grapple with a series of horrifying murders that begin to expose the town’s deep hypocrisies and hidden secrets. Meanwhile, friends and foes from Chucky’s past creep back into his world and threaten to expose the truth behind his mysterious origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
Chucky premieres October 12th at 10/9c on USA Network and SYFY.
