Dune: Prophecy Trailer – Power Comes With a Price

Warner Bros/Max have revealed the first trailer for the upcoming live-action Dune series, Dune: Prophecy, set to debut this Fall.

During WB Discovery’s Upfront presentation this morning, the company revealed the first teaser trailer for Dune: Prophecy and thus curing all my woes.

Obviously, I was already excited about this show, being a massive Dune fan. Even so, this trailer manages to hit all the right buttons. For one, it does a solid job of feeling like Dune, and capturing a similar style to the film adaptations, but as a fan of the books (yes, even some of the newer ones) it’s neat to see some of those aspects finally brought to life.

The trailer doesn’t bring a firm release date, just a nebulous “Fall” window, but it does reveal the season will consist of only six episodes. It’s kind of a bummer, but considering some of the ups and downs behind the scenes of production, not too surprising. Regardless, I’ll take six episodes of greatness over 8-10 episodes of “okay” any day.

From the expansive universe of “Dune,” created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, DUNE: PROPHECY follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. DUNE: PROPHECY is inspired by the novel SISTERHOOD OF DUNE, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

Cast: Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jihae, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.
