We learned of a new casting for HBO’s The Last of Us television series that confirmed some news: the show will also include the Left Behind DLC.
At least, that’s the assumption as showrunners have cast Euphoria‘s Storm Reid as Riley Abel, who is mentioned in The Last of Us but is not introduced until the DLC.
Riley also appears in The Last of Us: American Dreams, the comic book accompaniment that was published by creator Neil Druckmann and writer Faith Erin Hicks.
Executive producer and writer Craig Mazin confirmed the casting on Friday.
Option One.
Welcome aboard, @stormreid! https://t.co/rJVrXaAKqt

We learned last month that Nick Offerman joined the cast as Bill.
The Last of Us cast also includes Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian) as Joel and Bella Ramsay (Game of Thrones) as Ellie. Joel’s brother Tommy will be played by Gabriel Luna, Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter Sarah and Merle Dandridge will reprise her role as Fireflies leader Marlene.
The show is being written and produced by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin alongside Neil Druckmann, the writer and creative director of The Last of Us at Naughty Dog. Carolyn Strauss, Rose Lam, Naughty Dog president Evan Wells and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are also working as executive producers on the show.
The Last of Us is currently in production. A premiere date has not been confirmed.
