Bridgerton took the world by storm back in December 2020 when it aired for the first time on Netflix. The period drama set in Regency-era London captured the hearts of 82 million viewers with the highs and lows of the relationship between Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Bassett, Duke of Hastings. After a long wait, finally, fans of the show have gotten a sneak peek at the much-awaited second season.
WARNING: The following may include spoilers for Bridgerton Season 2.
Fans of the book series may already know that the series follows the different relationships of the Bridgerton children, with the second instalment titled The Viscount Who Loved Me focussing on Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest of the Bridgerton children. Simone Ashley stars as the head-strong and smart Kate Sharma who captures the eye of Anthony Bridgerton in this season.
In the first sneak peek of the show, we see a confident Anthony approach Kate outside of what appears to be a season event before Kate sternly informs him that she overheard him speaking about his requirements in a wife and questions what he has to bring to a relationship. Anthony’s attempts to charm his way out of the situation fall flat on Kate, however, who tells him “Your character is as deficient as your horsemanship.” A taken-aback Anthony is left watching as Kate walks away from their conversation.
Fans have been waiting eagerly for the exciting, romantic, and at times turbulent relationship to finally hit our screens, and our very first look at the couple hasn’t disappointed.
Bridgerton Season 2 is due to release in 2022.
