Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira to Reprise their ‘Walking Dead’ Roles in Rick & Michonne Spin-Off Series

It seems the story of Rick and Michonne will continue after all as a spin-off series featuring the pair has been announced at San Diego Comic-Con.

Four years after Andrew Lincoln confirmed he was leaving The Walking Dead, it has finally been confirmed that the story of Rick and Michonne will continue in a new spin-off series that will star Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in their iconic roles from the Walking Dead series. This series is coming in place of the trilogy of Rick Grimes movies that was originally announced back in 2018.

The series is described as follows:

“This series presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?”

The Rick Grimes and Michonne spin-off series is set to arrive in 2023.
