Warner Bros. has announced the title for the next Fantastic Beasts movie, while also moving it forward for a new Easter release date.
After a host of delays, and problems (even a full main character recast), it looks like Warner Bros. is ready to start pulling the curtain back on the next Fantastic Beasts movie. This morning, they’ve given the movie an actual title:
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore
On top of that, they’ve also moved the film FORWARD (a nice change of pace) from it’s July release date. Instead, the film will drop on April 15, 2022. So really, we’re only about 6 months out from this movie!
As far as titles go, it’s not a bad one, but it makes one wonder what secrets Dumbledore has that we don’t already know about. I mean, his history with his siblings is pretty well covered in the Harry Potter films. Also, it’s hard to see how this has anything to do at all with the “Fantastic Beasts” moniker (something they probably should have dropped after the first film).
It’s a series that started with some good ideas, but just hasn’t pulled it together (even though I largely love the new characters we’ve been given). That’s not to mention all of the drama in dealing with J.K. Rowling’s descent into being a, generally, horrible person. Makes it tough to look forward to this one.
