Things may have been a little slower this week with the absence of CinemaCon, but there was plenty you may have missed. Let’s recap the game & movie news of the week!
The Angry Birds Movie 3 Release Date Revealed
Paramount Pictures will theatrically distribute The Angry Birds Movie 3 with Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso, Horrible Bosses), Josh Gad (Frozen, Beauty and the Beast), Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Trolls World Tour), and Danny McBride (The Righteous Gemstones, The Mitchells vs. the Machines) reprising their roles as Red, Chuck, Silver, and Bomb. Rovio and SEGA will produce alongside Namit Malhotra and his production company Prime Focus Studios, in partnership with Flywheel Media, One Cool Group, and dentsu. Paramount Pictures will release the film in theatres worldwide on January 29, 2027.
New cast members will include Emma Myers (Wednesday, A Minecraft Movie), Keke Palmer (One of Them Days, Nope), Tim Robinson (I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, Friendship), Lily James (Cinderella, Baby Driver), Marcello Hernandez (Saturday Night Live), Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso, Veep), Anna Cathcart (XO Kitty, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever, Turning Red), Nikki Glaser (Golden Globe Awards, The Roast of Tom Brady), James Austin Johnson (Saturday Night Live), and Psalm West (Hulu’s The Kardashians).
The Angry Birds Movie 3 is directed by John Rice (The Angry Birds Movie, Beavis & Butt-Head Do the Universe) with a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman (The Angry Birds Movie 2, The Marvellous Misadventures of Flapjack), who is also executive producing alongside Toru Nakahara (Sonic the Hedgehog). The film is produced by John Cohen (Despicable Me, The Garfield Movie), Dan Chuba (The Mitchells vs. the Machines), and Carla Connor (The Willoughbys).
First Trailer for The Phoenician Scheme
Following its debut at CinemaCon last week, Focus Features revealed the first trailer for Wes Anderson’s latest film, The Phoenician Scheme. It hits theaters on May 30th.
New Gameplay Trailer for Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered
In this exciting new gameplay trailer, viewers will get a glimpse of the game’s deep and varied combat as well as its overall mission flow. With more than a hundred different mobile suits to choose from, players can engage in thrilling, action-packed Gundam battles in the world of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
This remaster of the fan-favorite PlayStation®Vita action RPG provides enhanced visuals and a redesigned UI catered for modern platforms, along with English localization for the first time. The remastered version retains the original title’s gameplay while adding new game mechanics and quality-of-life features such as improved tuning, mission selection and a newly added lock-on mode for a smoother, more accessible experience.
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered hits Nintendo Switch and PC on May 22nd.
Novocaine 4K Ultra HD Release Details

Kingdom of Heaven Gets a 4K Remaster for 20th Anniversary
Arguably Ridley Scott’s best film (for me anyway), Kingdom of Heaven turns 20 this year. To celebrate it’s coming to 4K Ultra HD for the first time on May 27th.
This stunningly restored and remastered Director’s Cut adds more gravitas and organic characterization to the historical masterpiece, a cinematic experience that is further plussed when seen in Dolby Vision and heard with Atmos. ‘Hershey’ Film Revealed
The Hershey family is getting its own biopic. A film about the man behind the behemoth chocolate brand will begin production in May.
A press release says that Finn Wittrock will play as Milton Hershey and Alexandra Daddario is playing as his wife Catherine “Kitty” Hershey.
Millions worldwide instantly recognize the distinctive wrapped Hershey’s bar, but few know the extraordinary human story behind it. A must-see movie for chocolate-lovers and fans alike, this movie reveals how a man who failed in business multiple times before creating an iconic chocolate empire chose to channel his success into a legacy of education and community that continues to transform lives today. A Dandelion Media production in partnership with the Hershey Entities and in association with Aloe Entertainment, Peachtree Group and RCM3 with UTA Independent Film Group will be representing worldwide rights. The HERSHEY movie is set to release in 2026, aligning with America’s 250th anniversary.
The film will be directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls, Spiderwick Chronicles, Mr. Popper’s Penguins).

Baldur’s Gate 3 Final Patch Launches Next Week
Baldur Gate 3’s final major patch has a release date: April 15! Larian Studios dropped a stream teaser for a Twitch stream that will air the same day that includes “a guest appearance from Senior Systems Designer, Ross Stephens, whose work on the new subclasses will be arriving next week.”
