The Matrix 4 Gets an Official Title, Still Coming in December

During their CinemaCon presentation, Warner Bros. showed the first footage for The Matrix 4 which confirmed its official title!

The bad news, is the trailer they showed for The Matrix: Resurrections (a title previously leaked but now confirmed), was only for those in attendance at CinemaCon. With the film still set to arrive in December, however, I don’t think the rest of us will be waiting too much longer.

Those who saw the trailer seemed to have nothing but good things to say, and it sounds like the story is really going Meta. Keanu Reeves is back as “Thomas Anderson” currently in therapy and being treated with a daily dose of blue pills.

From the sounds of it, he’s having dreams about the events of the previous films, perhaps his previous life, but has no knowledge of the Matrix itself. Those watching promised there’s plenty of action on display as well, so it sounds exactly like what we’ve been hoping to see.

The Matrix: Resurrections is set to hit theaters and HBO Max on December 22, 2021.
