The first official look at the upcoming Until Dawn film adaptation is here!
With the film adaptation of Until Dawn hitting theaters on April 25, 2025, Sony has released the first official look at the film in a short teaser video. In this teaser, the director and several others explain the basics of how they approached turning the game into a film while still retaining the scares that have made the game so iconic.

What I like the most about this first look is that they acknowledged the choice-based setting of the game and incorporated that, in a way, into the film. It looks like this is being set up to be a horror film where everything “resets” after death, effectively trapping the characters in a time loop unless they survive “until dawn.”
This seems like the best route to go as the Until Dawn game has a number of iconic death moments (depending on the choices made of course) and this will allow the filmmakers to portray many of them. It will also definitely keep the audience on their toes as they have no way of predicting which moments will be included.
