It’s official, a sequel to the latest Scream movie, which will be the franchise’s sixth film has been given the green light!
If you enjoyed the latest Scream sequel/reboot, then good news; more is on the way! Personally, I loved the new film and how it honored the legacy while finding a way to move forward. I’m certainly not the only one, as the film has been the most successful sequel so far in the series.
Paramount is capitalizing on this by going ahead and giving a sequel the green light. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be returning to direct the next film while also keeping James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick on board for scripting duties.
“We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film. We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie & Guy and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family,” Spyglass and Paramount said in a joint statement.
Even better, production is already slated to start this Summer, which means they’ve been working on a story for a little bit while they’ve waited on the official go-ahead. I’m thrilled to see the franchise continue and very eager to see where they decide to take things next. What do you hope to see out of the next Scream movie?
