Ridley Scott’s Napoleon Coming This November, First Trailer Released

Sony Pictures has released the first trailer of Ridley Scott’s action film Napoleon. Napoleon, played by Oscar®-winner Joaquin Phoenix will showcase the story of one of history’s most legendary rulers French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Ridley Scott is by far one of my favorite directors and always pushes his films to be some of the most breathtaking and dynamic films when they release.

Though it has been some time since Phoenix and Scott have worked together, Gladiator is one of the best film releases during the early 2000s and will go down as one of the greatest films ever directed by Scott. Joaquin Phoenix plays the evil and tyrannical Commodus and honestly stole the show with his performance.

Playing someone like Napoleon Bonaparte seems like a perfect role for Phoenix and I can’t wait to see this movie in IMAX theaters when it releases this Thanksgiving.

Napoleon is a spectacle-filled action epic that details the checkered rise and fall of the iconic French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, played by Oscar®-winner Joaquin Phoenix. Against a stunning backdrop of large-scale filmmaking orchestrated by legendary director Ridley Scott, the film captures Bonaparte’s relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his one true love, Josephine, showcasing his visionary military and political tactics against some of the most dynamic practical battle sequences ever filmed.
