The cast of the upcoming Gran Turismo movie adaptation just took a massive leap forward with the addition of Orlando Bloom.
When it was announced that a movie adaptation of the Gran Turismo video game series was in the works, many were understandably skeptical about how that might work. After all, Gran Turismo is known primarily as a racing game. With that in mind, today’s casting news might go a long way towards changing minds about this movie, as it’s been announced by The Hollywood Reporter that Orlando Bloom has officially joined the movie’s cast.
According to the report, Orlando Bloom is set to play “a hungry marketing exec who is selling the sport of motor racing…and just may believe in its art too.”
Bloom joins the cast in addition to David Harbour and Archie Madekwe, with Neil Blomkamp directing the film.
Shooting for the movie begins next week, and the film is slated for an August 11, 2023 release.
