Universal Pictures is moving fast on a new Jurassic Park/World story, with David Koepp writing the script.
Surprise! A new Jurassic World movie is in the works at Universal, and apparently far enough along the studios are considering a 2025 release date. A new exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter reveals that David Koepp (who wrote Jurassic Park and The Lost World) has been brought back as the screenwriter this time around.
While details are still slim, aside from Universal having been working on this under the radar for a bit, but the story will mark a “new Jurassic era” for the franchise. More than likely this means we shouldn’t expect to see any returning cast members from the previous films. Personally, I’m glad for that. Much as a love those characters, I think Dominion was a great send off for everyone.
There’s no director set at the moment, but Frank Marshall is back on producing duties. With word out there, and Universal eager to get one of their main crown jewel franchises back on the big screen, I suspect we’ll start hearing more sooner, rather than later.
All I know is there is much hooting and hollering going on over here.
