Fans of this year’s Mortal Kombat film may be in luck: it sounds like more films in that universe are on the way.
Based on a report from Variety, it’s been learned that Warner Bros. is working on more films based on this year’s Mortal Kombat reboot. Specifically, the studio is “developing other characters in the Mortal Kombat universe.” Those who saw the Mortal Kombat movie know that at least one of these potential characters could be Johnny Cage, whose future appearance was hinted at in the film’s final moments.
There aren’t any other details known about these films at this time, but given how open the film’s ending was, there are any number of directions future films could go.
