Latest Evil Dead Rise Trailer Showcases Films Success So Far

Today, Warner Brothers and New Line Cinema / Renaissance Pictures released the Final Review trailer for their upcoming horror film, EVIL DEAD RISE. Evil Dead Rise is a continuation of the original films (Evil Dead, Evil Dead II) and though Ash Williams will not be reprising his role, the film does bring elements from the universe to this film.

Director Lee Cornin stated the film is connected in an interview with TotalFilm this past December;

“There’s no Ash in this story and there’s no cabin in the woods, and they’re two iconic elements of what Evil Dead is. But the movie does include the book and an extraordinary amount of vicious, malevolent Deadites, so I was always pretty comfortable making that move [to LA].”

With that said, after the success of 2013’s Evil Dead Remake, I think its safe to say the film and its universe can still be successful without the demon killing mastermind Ash as the main character. I cant wait to watch the gory horror Rob Tapert(Producer), Sam Raimi(Executive Producer), and Ash himself Bruce Campbell(Executive Producer) have planned for us all have nightmares over for years to come!

Evil Dead Rise releases in theaters April 21st.

Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, “Evil Dead Rise” tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Sutherland and Sullivan, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.

“Evil Dead Rise” is produced by Rob Tapert (“Ash vs Evil Dead,” “Don’t Breathe”) and executive produced by series creator and horror icon Sam Raimi and cult legend and “Ash” himself, Bruce Campbell, along with John Keville, Macdara Kelleher, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Romel Adam and Victoria Palmieri.
