Amazon has revealed the first look at Jolt, the upcoming action flick with Kate Beckinsale that has some interesting ideas. Give it a look.
I love seeing Kate Beckinsale back in an action film. She’s always fun to watch in those roles and manages to look badass while doing it. Combine that with a different approach that has something to do with shock therapy and homicidal episodes, and well…Jolt looks interesting:
I hadn’t heard of the film previously, but this trailer certainly has me interested. I like the overall concept of her having to find a way to control her rage-fueled murder episodes, while also trying to figure out what’s going on. It feels like a kind of goofy Jason Statham film. Sure, it looks a little hammy, but definitely a lot of fun.
Lindy is a beautiful, sardonically-funny woman with a painful secret: Due to a lifelong, rare neurological disorder, she experiences sporadic rage-filled, murderous impulses that can only be stopped when she shocks herself with a special electrode device. Unable to find love and connection in a world that fears her bizarre condition, she finally trusts a man long enough to fall in love, only to find him murdered the next day. Heartbroken and enraged, she embarks on a revenge-filled mission to find his killer, while also being pursued by the police as the crime’s prime suspect.
Jolt hits Prime Video on July 23, 2021.
