This morning, A24 has released the first trailer for Ari Aster’s new film starring Joaquin Phoenix: Beau is Afraid.
I have absolutely no idea what’s going on in this trailer, or even what the movie might be about…and yet it’s pretty damn great and leaves me wanting more:
See what I mean? It’s strange and haunting, with hints of comedy and adventure that feels at once incredibly different from anything we’ve seen out of Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) before, but somehow still familiar. Color me intrigued.
