Christmas in July: Russo brothers in talks to return to MCU

According to reports coming from THR, the Russo brothers are in early talks to rejoin the Disney MCU. Known for their work on “Arrested Development”, and “Community”, the Russo’s left the comedy world, to helm the MCU blockbusters “Captain America: Civil War”, and both “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame”, arguably 3 of the best MCU titles to come out in the last decade.

Should these talks lead to the Russo’s returning to the MCU, they’ll be tasked with taking over a 5th Avengers movie that is in the process of being rewritten with a new story and new focus, due to the harrasment and assault convictions of Jonathan Majors. These charges led to Disney dropping Majors, as well as Kang storyline, first introduced to us in “Loki”

While the idea of the Russos returning to the marvel cinematic universe, is in it’s self exciting, fans of the directors, will also be happy to hear that the brothers will also be responsible for the 6th Avengers movie, titled “Secret Wars” a storyline that the Russo brothers have repeatedly discussed their want to adapt. Hopefully these early talks evolve into directors chairs for the Russo brothers, it would exciting to have them in the drivers seat for another run of Marvel superhero excitement.
