While the live-action Saint Seiya adaptation Knights of the Zodiac has been developing for several years, we finally have some information to get excited about as the main cast have been revealed.
In an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, the main cast for the upcoming Knights of the Zodiac live-action film have been revealed. This film is a live-action adaptation of the popular anime Saint Seiya that ran from 1986 to 1989. The main cast consists of Mackenyu, Madison Iseman, Sean Bean, Famke Janssen, Nick Stahl, Diego Tinoco and Mark Dacascos.
For those unfamiliar, the Saint Seiya anime followed a group of warriors known as The Saints who derived their powers from the constellations. Their task is to defend the reincarnated goddess Athena from other gods who want to conquer Earth.
Knights of the Zodiac is being described as an origin story and is summarized as follows:
When a mystical energy known as Cosmo awakens in him, Seiya embarks on a journey to conquer the ancient Greek armor of Pegasus and choose his side in a preternatural battle for the fate of Sienna (Iseman), a young girl who struggles to control her godly powers.
Mackenyu stars as Seiya, the titular hero of the Saint Seiya anime. Bean is playing Alman Kiddo, who recruits Seiya into the Knights, while Tinoco plays a man hired to kill the reincarnated goddess.
