Despite only being out for a couple weeks, in the face of unprecedented circumstances, Disney is releasing Pixar’s Onward early for audiences to enjoy!
The times, they are a-changing. As theaters across the country shut down, and films are continually delayed, studios are having to find other ways to get their films in front of audiences. As Universal and Warner Bros have done with their recent theatrical releases, Disney has announced that Pixar’s latest film, Onward, will be available to purchase digitally…TODAY.
“While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes,” said Dan Scanlon (Director, “Onward”) and Kori Rae (Producer, “Onward”).
You’ll be able to buy Pixar via your preferred digital retailer later today starting at 5PM PST for $19.99. But wait, there’s more! On top of arriving early for sale, Onward will also be coming to Disney Plus super early; arriving on April 3rd.
While the circumstances necessitating this certainly suck, it’s nice that movie lovers will still have the opportunity to enjoy recent releases they may not have been able to see before all of this came down.
Will you be downloading Onward later tonight?
