Greenland Comes to Blu-Ray Next Month

Universal Pictures has announced the physical home entertainment release details for the Gerard Butler disaster flick, Greenland.

I REALLY enjoyed Greenland. When it launched digitally last month, I was hooked and impressed at it’s ability to bring the goods in terms of action, with plenty of heart. Soon we’ll get the chance to revisit it, and OWN it.

Universal announced today that Greenland will hit digitally (for sale this time, not rental) on January 26th, with the physical Blu-ray launching on February 9th.

A family fights for survival as a planet-killing comet races to Earth.  John Garrity (Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Baccarin), and young son Nathan make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary.  Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being leveled by the comet’s fragments, the Garrity’s experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them.  As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.

BONUS FEATURES on BLU-RAYTM, DVD AND DIGITAL
Deleted Scenes with Introductions by Director Ric Roman Waugh
Humanity – Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Director Ric Roman Waugh and VFX Supervisor Mark Massicotte take audiences behind the scenes of the exhilarating story
Feature Commentary with Director Ric Roman Waugh and Producer Basil Iwanyk

While it’s a bit of a bummer that we’re not getting a 4K UHD release for this one (for some reason), I’m still excited to get my hands on a physical copy to enjoy again and again. Will you be picking up Greenland on Blu-ray next month?
