Bill Skarsgard and Lily-Rose Depp Reportedly Cast in Nosferatu Reboot

After years of attempting to reboot the classic 1922 horror film Nosferatu and hitting roadblocks, Robert Eggers‘ reimagining of the gothic tale looks to finally be back on track.

Deadline is reporting that Bill Skarsgard (IT, Barbarian) and Lily-Rose Depp (Voyagers) have been cast for the film, with Robert Eggers directing and writing. Skarsgard is set to play the title character Nosferatu, while Depp will play the character haunted by him. The project has also moved to Focus Features.

Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.

Previously, Nosferatu was set to be produced by Studio 8 with Anya Taylor-Joy and Harry Styles attached to the project. However, budgeting issues and scheduling conflicts caused the project to be put on pause and new actors to be cast.

No release date has been announced, as of yet.
