Animated Film, Merry Little Batman, Gets Poster and Prime Video Release Date

The holiday themed animated film, Merry Little Batman, is coming this December to Prime Video, and today brings fans a first poster to gander at.

After Warner Bros./Max decided to pass on a handful of animated projects (opting to license them out instead), Amazon swooped in to give the Batman related ones a new home. The deal included Batman: The Caped Crusader (a spiritual successor to the original Animated Series) along with Merry Little Batman, a holiday themed animated film.

Today, Prime Video has offered fans the first look at the upcoming film thanks to a teaser poster, which also reveals a December 8th release date!

Merry Little Batman is an animated family action comedy destined to join the rogue’s gallery of classic holiday movies. When young Damian Wayne finds himself alone in Wayne Manor on Christmas Eve, he must transform into “Little Batman” in order to defend his home and Gotham City from the crooks and supervillains intent on destroying the holidays.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and based on characters from DC, Merry Little Batman features the voices of Yonas Kibreab, Luke Wilson, James Cromwell, and David Hornsby, and is directed by Mike Roth (Regular Show) from a screenplay by Morgan Evans (Teen Titans Go!) and Jase Ricci (Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham). Roth also serves as executive producer, alongside Sam Register (Looney Tunes cartoons).

Voice records and writing concluded prior to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

Merry Little Batman is set to hit Prime Video on December 8, 2023. Hopefully this means we’ll get some official word on Caped Crusader before long.
