Selaco (On A Steamdeck)

I’ve had this game on my Steam wishlist for some time, but with my PC acting up I’ve been avoiding buying new games. The early access title takes everything great about “boomer shooters” and heightens it to extreme quality. It blends classic FPS action with an action oriented arena game design that is always in your face and fast paced. The best part is it never really slows down to tell a story, similar to older Doom titles, because you are physically playing the story.

However what is truly blowing me away is the fact this game is playing beautifully on the Steam Deck. I haven’t really utilized my Switch since I got it, but this Christmas I decided to dive in and get a Deck and I haven’t looked back.

Marvel Rivals

I’m sure I’m not the only one that has been sucked into the game since it was released last month. The Marvel team shooter is filling in that Overwatch itch, since OverWatch 2 basically made me leave that game entirely. OW2 tried to suck me back in with a limited time 6v6 event, but I don’t think it was enough to keep me away from Marvel Rivals. I’m excited for future content and you’ll likely see this game on my list again next month.

Marvel Rivals

Like Dustin, I’ve been lost in Marvel Rivals! This might be the longest I’ve gone without logging into Overwatch since it launched in 2016, but definitely since the game was reworked and relaunched as Overwatch 2. I’m not a huge PvP gamer with League of Legends and Overwatch being the two I’ve actually played competitively in over the last 15 years, so it’s a huge deal when a game drops that pulls me away from either (or both). Marvel Rivals has its share of performance issues (PC), cheaters, and balance issues, but it’s been an absolute blast.

Stardew Valley

I’m still riding on the high of the 1.6 launch earlier this year on PC. The massive update dropped for console and mobile players in November, so I know it’s got a lot of us under its clutches. I’m getting close to reaching Perfection on my 1.6 Meadowlands Farm so I’ve been chipping away at the time intensive requirements.

Sea of Stars

It’s not new, but I’ve finally been pushing my way through Sea of Stars on PS5 and my goodness I didn’t give this game enough credit when I initially reviewed it. It’s beautiful and challenging in all the right ways. The story is intricate and you really come to care for these characters. I’m nearly done with the original game and will soon be checking out the free DLC, which I’m very much looking forward to.

HellDivers 2

Over the past ten months, Sony has truly excelled in elevating Helldivers 2 to remarkable heights. This game has garnered a substantial and passionate fan base, many of whom are avid admirers of the Starship Troopers series. The gameplay moments are some of the most exhilarating I’ve encountered in years, filled with intense action and strategic challenges. The ability to fully immerse myself in a cooperative mode—while taking the fight to the enemies of Super Earth—adds an incredible layer of teamwork and camaraderie. This combination of thrilling gameplay and cooperative elements makes Helldivers 2 one of my favorite multiplayer experiences of the year, and it’s no wonder that I keep returning to it for more adventures.

Fortnite

Fortnite has turned from a Zombie Survivor title to now the largest, most played Battle Royale on the market. With new game modes constantly being added, like the recently added Ballistic Mode(FPS Version of Fortnite), Bricks Life, and more, fortnite has proved to fans and haters alike that they are the big dog on campus and are here to stay!

The fact that you can play Fortnite, Rocket League, lego Fortnite, Fall guys, Fortnite festival, and Fortnite OG, not to mention all of the community content available for free is wild! I can feel that eventually we will see Fortnite. Be recognized as one of the longest running battle royale titles of all time, and hopefully we’ll still sit atop the mountain of the games industry.

Other Games I’m Playing: The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2, Madden 25
