Split Fiction, God of War, And Monster Hunter | What Are We Playing March Update

Alright, who is fast forwarding 2025? 3 months in already is incredibly insane, I feel like I’m writing this article weekly. Anyway, March is a heavy handed month for games with a ton of titles releasing for the early grab of the year including Split Fiction and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Combine that with a hefty amount of titles released last month like Avowed and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and I think the team is losing all their free time. Let’s see what everyone is playing in March….

Dustin

Split Fiction
I’ve been excited for this game for a while because of the split co-op story driven games that the studio created, like It Takes Two, as they have been some of the most fun I’ve had in all of gaming. I absolutely love playing Co-op with my spouse, so any time I get that opportunity to do it, it is a gift to me. The story and gameplay of Split Fiction already has me check-marking it for GOTY contender.

Bleach: Rebirth of Souls
Kind of disappointed it’s another anime fighting game at the core, when open world anime games have been so successful as of late, but it is Bleach none-the-less, and thus I have to play it. I’m a huge fan of the series and have watched through the core story over a dozen times, and I’ll gladly take anything with the title.

God of War: Ragnarok
Yes, I know, I’m several years behind, but between kids and playing things I had to for “work” purposes, certain things fall through the cracks. Roughly half-way through, however, and I’ve been kicking myself for missing out on this when it first hit. What an incredible game, and I’m thrilled to see Kratos’ daughter, Calliope, finally get a mention as well.

Unicorn Overlord
On the Nintendo Switch side of things, I’ve been greatly enjoyed the strategy game, Unicorn Overlord. It’s not the Fire Emblem clone I was expecting, and it does some neat stuff with the genre that I’d love to see picked up elsewhere. Combine that with all the fun of a typical JRPG story, and there’s a lot to keep me coming back.

Katy

Carmen Sandiego
The new entry into the classic game series comes out on March 4! I love a detective game and I loved the original game and show series so I’ll be diving into the nostalgia.

Monster Hunter Wilds
I haven’t really dug into a Monster Hunter game and I have been feeling like diving into the newest entry into the series to get a feel for what the hype has always been about. Monster Hunter fans are some of the most diehard and I’ve always respected it, so I think its time to peek behind the curtain!

Outer Worlds
The first time I played the Outer Worlds, I loved it. But it was when the game first launched and before the DLC came out. With the recent confirmation that a sequel is coming, I picked up the Spacer’s Choice edition with both DLCs: Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos.

I’ve unlocked both of the DLC story lines but have been completing the vanilla side quests so far before jumping in.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
After reviewing the game in January, I was inspired to go back and replay FFVII Remake on the PC last month. This month, I’m going to dive into the new game head-first and really sink my teeth into it this time.

Metaphor: ReFantazio
All of my RPG-lover friends have been insisting I give this one a shot, so it’s going on the list. I’ve never fully gotten into the Persona or SMT games, but the fantasy stylings of Metaphor are just my cup of tea, so I’m excited to give this one a go. Plus, the music is incredible.

Avowed
I’ve been having a great time with Avowed as sort of a ‘drop in/drop out’ style game. When I feel like a palate cleanser from the more slow-paced and tactical RPGs I’ve been enjoying, or the more linear games like Remake, I turn on Avowed to wander the Living Lands as a dual wandslinging wizard wayfarer. There’s so much to explore and I never feel like I’m losing steam by taking a break from it.

Red Dead Redemption II
The stories of Arthur Morgan and John Marston are tragic narratives about men who strive to do the right thing but continually slip back into a life of crime. Rockstar Games has consistently pushed the boundaries in their open-world titles, excelling in graphical presentation, gameplay, and storytelling that resonates with everyday people. I have been captivated by their games for quite some time, and revisiting this particular title has deepened my appreciation for the immense effort that goes into creating a Rockstar game. Not only is it enjoyable to play and visually stunning, but the game also serves as a living, breathing work of art that evolves as you progress through it.

Fortnite C6 S2
The latest season of Fortnite is underway and many things have changed! With a new battle pass, comes the newly added cities to the map called Crime City, Lonewolf Lair, Outlaw Oasis, and Shiny Shafts. In these areas of the map, you can play the role of an Outlaws by robbing banks, taking down foes with the newly added Super charged bat, Sub-Zero Gauntlets, Plasma Cutter, Collateral Damage Assault Rifle, and more! This isn’t even close to all the details, but if you wanted Fortnite to change, I’d check this latest update out now!

MONSTER HUNTER WILDS
From the moment you step into Monster Hunter: Wilds, you are greeted by stunning visuals, engaging gameplay mechanics, and a story filled with exhilarating adventures, memorable characters, and pulse-pounding action. This title is undoubtedly one of Capcom’s best releases in years, offering a wealth of gameplay for everyone to enjoy, no matter your history with the series! Check out the review below:
