THQ Nordic surprised Darksiders fans at this year’s Summer Games Fest by dropping a teaser trailer for a new upcoming Darksiders entry in the acclaimed dark fantasy action adventure series. Other than the trailer, little other information has been released. But fear not my fellow Darksiders fans, for while we wait eagerly for any new information on the teased new title, THQ has released a surprising update for what is arguably the best title in the series, Darksiders II.
Darksiders II followed the exploits of Death while he worked behind the scenes to undo the extermination of the human race in an effort to redeem his brother War, and undo the events of Darksiders. These exploits will now be fully rendered in 4K, and feature ray tracing with enhanced lighting and shadows, bringing Death’s exploits to full vibrant life. Check out the screenshots below:
Screenshots not doing it for you? THQ was kind enough to drop a gameplay teaser as well, check it out below:
Players who pick up this update on the PS5 will get the added benefit of being able to experience every strike and swing of Death’s scythes through the dual sense controller’s haptic feedback. The game’s loading times have also been drastically reduced with this enhanced version taking advantage of SSD technology.
Darksiders II Deathinitive launches for PS5, and Xbox series X/S on October 15th and will set players back $29.99, players that pre-order the game before October 14th will receive a 50% discount off the price. Players who already own Darksiders II Deathinitive on Xbox, or Playstion will be able to download the enhanced upgrade for free when the game launches on October 15th.
