Production Begins for Bruce Springsteen Biopic
This week brought word that filming had begun on Deliver Me from Nowhere, the Bruce Springsteen biopic starring Jeremy Allen White (first look image above).
Production is underway on “Deliver Me from Nowhere,” the eagerly anticipated movie adaptation of Warren Zanes’ fascinating telling of the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album. Slated for theaters in 2025, the film is written and directed by Scott Cooper (“Crazy Heart,” “Hostiles,” “Antlers,” “Black Mass”) and stars Jeremy Allen White (“The Bear,” “The Iron Claw,” “Shameless”) as the visionary musician as he embarks on an emotional journey to record “Nebraska.”
“Beginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey,” said Cooper. “Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Nebraska’ has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. The Simpsons Join Monday Night Football
ESPN, Disney, the Simpsons and the National Football League will premiere The Simpsons Funday Football on Monday, Dec. 9, an animated Monday Night Football game transformed in real-time into the iconic Simpsons world using Sony’s Beyond Sports Technology. Atoms Stadium in Springfield will host the fully immersive fan viewing experience featuring the Cincinnati Bengals at the Dallas Cowboys, ESPN’s Monday Night Football game that evening.
The Simpsons Funday Football alternate viewing presentation will stream on Disney+ and ESPN+, and, on mobile, with NFL+. The traditional Monday Night Football telecast will be available on ESPN, ABC and ESPN Deportes with Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli on ESPN2. Both the traditional telecast and Peyton and Eli will also be on ESPN+, making each distinct presentation available in the ESPN App. All telecasts will begin at 8 p.m. ET.
Internationally, the special presentation will be available on linear or streaming in more than 145 markets live and/or via replay. Among those, all Latin America including Mexico and Brazil, the Caribbean, Australia & New Zealand, Netherlands, Sub-Saharan Africa and Canada (TSN). Video on Demand will also be available 12 hours after the live broadcast ends in these and other markets.

New Star Wars Black Series Figures Revealed
Technically this happened over the past weekend, but since Hasbro didn’t send out the official reveals until later…I’m counting it. During the London MCM Comic-Con and Hasbro 1027 stream, Star Wars fans got some new Black Series reveals: Savage Opress, Luminara Unduli, Shaak Ti, and Sebulba.
I love not only getting more Jedi (women no less) but also a new alien and Maul’s brother. All of these are set to release in Summer 2025, with pre-orders for them live right now on Hasbro Pulse and other fan retailers.
The Killer’s Game 4K Ultra HD Announced
Lionsgate announced the physical release details for their action/comedy flick starring Dave Bautista, The Killer’s Game. You can pick it up digitally now, but the 4K Ultra HD drops on November 19th.
In the new action-comedy THE KILLER’S GAME, when top hit man Joe Flood (Dave Bautista) is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he decides to take matters into his own hands – by taking a hit out on himself. But when the very hit men he hired also target his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella), he must fend off an army of assassin colleagues and win back the love of his life before it’s too late.

In other movie trailer news, this week brought our first look at Luca Guadagnino’s newest film (starring Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey), titled Queer.
1950. William Lee, an American expat in Mexico City, spends his days almost entirely alone, except for a few contacts with other members of the small American community. His encounter with Eugene Allerton, an expat former soldier, new to the city, shows him, for the first time, that it might be finally possible to establish an intimate connection with somebody.

New Character Posters for Nosferatu
This week, Focus Features revealed a slew of character posters for the upcoming horror flick, Nosferatu. They are, appropriately, creepy and engaging.
Robert Eggers’ NOSFERATU is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.
Nosferatu arrives in theaters on December 25, 2024.
TOHO Announces New Godzilla Film
TOHO revealed a new Godzilla movie is in the works from the filmmaker behind last year’s incredibly Godzilla Minus One. The announcement comes from a social media post, so sadly, there’s not much other information at the moment. Regardless, considering how amazing Minus One was, my hype is already in gear.
Squid Game Season 2 Trailer
Netflix revealed a new trailer for the second season of Squid Game, which somehow manages to look even more tense.
Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.
Squid Game season two premieres on Netflix December 26th.
