Though we’ll get a full reveal during this week’s Star Wars Celebration Japan, EA/BitReactor have revealed a first glimpse at Star Wars Zero Company.
Announced back in 2022, this week finally brings us some solid information on Respawn and Bit Reactor’s upcoming Star Wars game…which now has a title: Zero Company. As previously reported, the game is a turn-based tactics title and I couldn’t be more excited. Seriously, XCOM, but Star Wars, is something I’ve been clamoring for, for years.
We’ll learn more about Star Wars Zero Company on April 19th, during a special panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan. This should include gameplay footage, details on the single-player story we’ll be playing though, and *fingers crossed* maybe a release date to go with it.
Until then, the developers have revealed the first poster. It’s a pretty motley crew of squadmates as we can see an Umbaran, Human (holding a holo of a Battle Droid), an astromech, a Mandalorian, a (former?) Clone Trooper, and even a Tognath Jedi. If the game is like XCOM, perhaps we’ll get a robust character creator system and this is just a smattering of the recruits you can use.
Regardless, with little else to go on, my hype is still through the roof. Be sure to keep it tuned here on Cinelinx as we’ll have updates from Star Wars Celebration as the event happens!
