SNK Adds Another Bizarre Guest Character to City of the Wolves: Salvatore Ganacci

I suppose Ronaldo Cristiano wasn’t weird enough of a character to bolster the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves roster, because SNK has truly outdone themselves with the latest announcement: the DJ/electronic music artist, Salvatore Ganacci, is going to be a fully playable character in the new fighting game. Watch his announcement trailer on YouTube or right here:

Ganacci is also working with SNK to spearhead a collaboration between himself and other DJs to add their musical stylings to the City of the Wolves soundtrack, so his appearance in-game isn’t entirely out of left field. His moveset also appears to be almost entirely unserious, with flops and air-swims for attacks, all capped off by an ultra combo that is basically just him mashing on his opponent’s face like its a record being scratched.

If Salvatore is a joke character, it’s certainly a strange choice, especially coming from a series that already had an established jokey DJ character in Duck King. While I can understand the star power of Ronaldo to some degree, this addition just seems like a strange and potentially unsuitable choice for the developers to have greenlit. We’ll see, I suppose!

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves releases April 24, 2025 on Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
