Celebrate the history of PlayStation with these cool new bundles coming to PS5.
Sony has announced that they will be celebrating 30 years of PlayStation with some PS1 inspired bundles coming to PS5 soon.
The new bundles include new console designs for the PS5 Digital edition and the PS5 Pro (also sadly digital). The grey look is an inspiration from the original PlayStation, and each device also has the original colorful PlayStation logo etched in somewhere too. Inside the panels is the PlayStation logo textured throughout, along with stamps on the the lower panel with the 30th logo. Inside the slanted design is the text for the anniversary.
Separating the two units is the fact the PS5 Pro version is being limited to 12,300 units. It also comes with a little bit more as it includes both the PS Dualsense controller and a Edge controller, and a charging station for the controllers.
Both console bundles will include a stand for the unit, a Dualsense controller, and collectable goodies. They also both include a cool PS1 inspired charging cord that plugs into the console like a controller. Also included is a cover for the disc expansion units, which will still sadly not be included in either bundle.
Other options include buying the Dualsense and Edge controllers in the gray designs, and you can also pick up a PlayStation Portal with the gray design as well. All of them have the colorful PlayStation logo, etched PlayStation texture, and a note of the celebration.
It is worth noting the PlayStation 5 Pro is already highly priced at $700, and the additional items include a $40 stand, $200 Edge controller, $30 charging station, and other items which normally total over $1k dollars, and the PlayStation Blog currently doesn’t list a price for it.
The PS5 Pro bundle will be available exclusively on the PS Direct website on September 26th. The PS5 Digital bundle will be available on PS Direct and select retailers in October.
While I won’t be able to afford those console bundles, I do appreciate the boxes a lot. Check them out:
