Konami has revealed a new cinematic trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Delta and it explores all the key story point from early game. However, could we be seeing more?
Sony hosted another State of Play earlier this week, and within it they showcased games that will be enhanced with the PS5 Pro. Within that sizzle reel was Metal Gear but it seemed to showcase scenes that haven’t been shown off yet. You would think we would be seeing those scenes in todays new trailer, but:
The trailer was released above and while it shows some cool scenes from early game, where it introduces the several different bosses found in the game, it doesn’t dive into some of the more mid game scenes until the very end. Meanwhile the Sony sizzle reel clearly is a little further along in the game.
Combining this with the fact the Official PlayStation channel still hasn’t posted the trailer either, we can assume that perhaps there is something more planned for TGS (or another event) that Konami and Sony will be revealing? Perhaps….I don’t know…. a release date?
Sony is utilizing the sizzle reel to showcase games that will have enhanced features available when the PS5 Pro releases, so that means the release date for MGS Delta needs to be sometime around November 7th. Otherwise it would be kind of strange to be utilizing a game that is further out from release, and the reel could have utilized many unreleased games instead.
So far Konami has only shown the announcement trailer, seen below, and a hour long deep dive in the game which at a quick glance still didn’t show those scenes above. It’s also worth noting the TGS booth currently has several characters on display in full render including Snake, Eva, The Boss, and Volgin, but the trailer showcases some of the abilities of The Pain without actually showing him.
