Developer Ryu Ga Gotoku gave players a extended preview of the gameplay for the upcoming Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza, set to release on February 21 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
The game takes placed on year after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth when Majima washes up on a deserted island after a shipwreck that leaves him with amnesia.
Unable to remember even his own name, Majima travels across the vast ocean in search of clues to piece together his lost identity, accompanied by a boy named Noah who saved his life. Before long, they’re caught up in a conflict between cutthroat criminals, modern-day pirates and other scoundrels over a legendary treasure.
RGG gave the preview in the Like a Dragon Direct on January 9, showcasing locations in the game along with a look at the land and sea combat systems, crew building, rehabilitate animal friends, and side experiences.
The game will have Majima assembling a crew and upgrading his ship, all while battling enemy pirate ships ad conquering the seas.
Developers also revealed that a New Game+ will be added to Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza free update after its launch.
