With Gamescom in full swing, and studios dropping reveal after exciting reveal, Blizzard just had to get in on the fun. In a trailer that was just dropped an hour ago, Blizzard has revealed that players will no longer have to face the relentless demon hordes threatening Sanctuary all by their lonesome when the upcoming Diablo IV expansion, Vessel of Hatred launches in October. Check out the trailer below:
The trailer shows off the skills of members of the Pale Hand as the group calls themselves, and will give players the opportunity to choose between 1 of the 4 members of the group. The members consits of a Shieldbearer, a weathered barbarian crone, an Scoundrel type archer, and lastly a demon child. The trailer gives us a brief glimpse of the characters, and their abilities, as well as providing a bit of a visual backstory for each of the available mercenaries. I fully expect more to be revealed in the days ahead as Blizzard reveals more about this added feature.
Along with the mercenaries annoucment, the team behind Diablo IV also announced a new co-op PvE endgame dungeon that will have players bringing their “A” game as they are tested with challenging puzzles and mechanics. This new end game dungeon will be called the Dark Citadel, and promises to be an exciting challenge for players looking for more endgame content. In addition to the Dark Citadel, Blizzard also announced a new multi-stage, time attack dungeon called Kurast Undercity. This new multi-level dungeon will give players control over the challenges, as well as control over the loot in the dungeon.
More will definintely be revealed regarding these annoucments at tomorrow, during the Xbox broadcast starting at 6am PDT. Fans can check out the stream on Xbox’s official Youtube, Twitch and Facebook channels.
