A while back, SNK teased a collaboration for their newest game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, with the extraordinarily famous Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo. Though many assumed the collab would include Ronaldo-themed costumes or a soccer field stage or something like that, SNK shocked everyone today by revealing that, actually, CR7 himself would be taking the stage as a playable fighter! If this is an early April Fool’s prank, it’s surely an extensive one, as SNK has also released an entire move list to their website for his full set of specials and supers. Ronaldo’s move set appears to, unsurprisingly, heavily feature the use of a soccer ball as a projectile attack, along with a plethora of fancy foot-based attacks that lend themselves well to the soccer star.
I’m not sure what I’m more excited about with this news: the legend himself as a playable character, or the fact that we can now look forward to “Ronaldo Mains” as an actual thing in a fighting game!
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves releases April 24, 2025 on Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
