During yesterday’s Playstation State of Play event the Gearbox Randys (Randy Varnell and Randy Pitchford) gave fans of the Borderlands series some great news regarding this year’s Borderlands 4, and a little snippet of gameplay footage.
The big news that was dropped was the release date for the game, Borderlands 4, the 4th installment of the wild west fever dream that Borderlands is, will launch world wide on September 23rd 2025.
Gearbox also dropped a brand new trailer for the upcoming looter shooter, and in typical Gearbox fashion made sure to accompany the visual mayhem with an equal ammount of audio mayhem, courtesy of the Joey Valence and Brae track “Like A Punk”. The trailer gives us a brief look at some of the craziness fans can expect in Borderlands 4 as we get a shot of a nice grapple over followed by grenade drop manuever, as well as the never ending supply of projectile weapon ridiculousness that fans have come to expect from the series. While the trailer is relatively short, Gearbox has promised fans a much deeper dive into the game and the gameplay itself at and upcoming State of Play event scheduled for sometime this spring.
