On October 2, the dev team behind Destiny 2 hosted a livestream to discuss upcoming content releasing for the first act of Destiny 2: Revenant launching October 8.
The livestream gave fans a chance to take a deep look at the new features with the devs discussing, tonic brewing, new weapons, as well as artifact perks. There is also a new Onslaught mode called Salvation, which will see players fighting the Scorn (I hate these guys, like seriously hate them, worst enemy ever) and the Cabal Shadow Legion. Fans can watch the recorded live stream over at Bungie’s Twitch channel.
Developers also discussed “Frontiers” which is the codename for Destiny 2’s 2025 roadmap that promises to deliver two medium-sized expansion per year, along with four free major updates.
According to the team, these expansions will be comparable in size to the 2016 release Destiny: Rise of Iron. These updates will feature non-linear storytelling and bring systemic innovations along with enhancements to the core game play of Destiny 2.
Along with story updates, the team behind Destiny 2 will also be introducing significant changes to armor in the game, including new stat ranges and set bonuses that will enhance armor value, and new build-crafting options.
You can check the full breakdown of armor changes here, but the long and short of it is that stats are being streamlined to be more player friendly, meaning less confusing, armor is being tweaked to be a more active component of character build’s and armor will have set bonuses, to further allow players to individualize their characters.
Sounds like fans can expect some exciting additions in Revenant as well as some exciting changes in 2025.
