Universal Studios capitalized on Mar10 Day to announce some big news: Super Nintendo World will open next year in the United States.
Nintendo shared more details about the U.S. debut of the theme park. Super Nintendo World opened in Japan last year with themes mostly related to the Mario franchise that includes attractions, ride and stores themed after the games’ iconic characters and titles, like Mario Kart.
“The immersive land will be a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity located within a newly expanded area of the theme park, featuring a groundbreaking ride and interactive areas, to be enjoyed by the whole family,” the company said in a press release. “Themed shopping and dining will enhance the entire experience.”
Company officials said the Feature Presentation store at Universal Studios Hollywood will be taken over with Nintendo-themed merchandise, but did not say when.
Super Nintendo World was slated to open first in Orlando, Florida, but the East Coast location was delayed until 2025.
