After finally returning from the amazing Summer Game Fest, I can say it was one hell of an event with amazing opportunities! During the event, Bokeh Game Studio finally revealed some amazing gameplay of their upcoming horror title Slitterhead.
Bokeh Game Studio was established by Keiichiro Toyama, the renowned creator of the Silent Hill series. Their upcoming game seems to be a perfect fit for horror enthusiasts, drawing on Toyama’s expertise in the genre.
From what we have gathered from the trailer and information provided via Bokeh Game Studio, players will take on the role of Hyoki, an entity that has no memory or physical form with a goal to rid the city of the monsters infesting it!
This will not be an easy task though, as the monsters can take human form. With the help of their allies, Hyoki must take out these monsters, regain his memories, and save humankind before it’s too late.
I was completely captivated by the game during the Summer Game Fest live event. Its breathtaking art style, unique visuals, and compelling storyline have left a lasting impression on me. I’m eagerly awaiting the opportunity to experience the game firsthand.
Despite not being able to play the game at the event, I discovered from Bokeh that it is scheduled for a digital release on Nov. 8, 2024, priced at $49.99. Furthermore, I learned that a physical PS5â„¢ Day 1 Edition will be available in North America through XSEED Games for $59.99.
This special edition will include a physical copy of the game, a CD featuring original songs composed by Akira Yamaoka, an extensive 100-page artbook filled with intricate details, and a sticker sheet, all encased in a custom outer box.
During the presentation, Bokeh Game Studios not only unveiled captivating gameplay footage, a confirmed release date, and an impressive physical edition of the game but also expressed their deep-seated passion for creating stunning horror games that have been absent from the industry for quite some time.
I can only say that Slitterhead looks to be a great return to true action horror gaming. I can’t wait title the game releases later this year, please make sure to check back here soon for more news on its release and hopefully our review.
