‘Starship Troopers: Extermination’ Revealed to Be Releasing in October 2024

A Starship Troopers video game is on the way and it arrives this fall!

It was announced during IGN Live that the acclaimed 16-player FPS Starship Troopers: Extermination will arrive on PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X | S consoles this coming October 11, 2024 when the title launches out of Early Access into 1.0.

Making the announcement onstage was none other than Casper Van Dien, the star of the original 1997 Starship Troopers film, who revealed that his iconic character Johnny Rico will return in Starship Troopers: Extermination, commanding players in a new, single-player game mode included in the 1.0 launch, alongside new enemies, locations & more!

The new game mode focuses entirely on a single-player experience, offering 25 distinct missions and a variety of PvE combat scenarios across multiple environments, with a second chapter to follow post-launch. Tapped for an elite spec ops group within the Mobile Infantry, players find themselves following the orders of living legend General John “Johnny” Rico, proving their mettle against hordes of enemy Arachnids with the aid of three original NPC allies to prove themselves worthy of recruitment.

Alongside the announcement, Offworld also shared a new gameplay trailer, showcasing the battles, Bugs and blasts that console players can expect from upon their enlistment in the United Citizen Federation’s Mobile Infantry. Additionally, in the coming weeks, Offworld will share more information regarding Starship Troopers: Extermination—including details about the latest update, which arrives at the end of June.
